Bicycle Rental Waiver
Review the agreement, add your details, and sign.
Renter name, email, and mobile number
I will ask for help with the bike's fit or controls before leaving.
Signature
- 01
Riders and rental period
Identify the renter and each person riding. Record pickup, return time, and booking details rather than treating the paying customer as every participant.
- 02
Equipment and handoff condition
Link the bicycle, helmet, lock, and accessories to a handoff record. Give riders a way to flag fit or visible condition concerns.
- 03
Permitted routes and uses
Explain approved riding areas, road or trail restrictions, passenger limits, and prohibited transfers. Specify whether electric assistance or child accessories are included.
- 04
Cycling risks and rider conduct
Describe traffic, intersections, surfaces, visibility, and shared-path interactions. State the helmet policy and expectations for following applicable riding rules.
- 05
Breakdowns and rental return
Explain whom to contact for a mechanical problem, weather concern, or delay. Reference the reviewed return, theft, damage, and fee terms clearly.
- 06
Participation and rental signatures
Include reviewed consent and release wording for riders, guardian consent for minors, and clearly identified acceptance of the renter's equipment responsibilities.
Put it into practice
Make arrival easier for your team.
- 01
Verify a signed record for each rider before assigning equipment
- 02
Use a separate handoff checklist for fit, controls, and existing damage
- 03
Complete a return inspection before closing the rental in your rental system
Before publishing
Make it specific to your operation.
- 01
Identify bicycle types, electric assistance, and optional accessories accurately
- 02
Match the handoff record to the equipment actually issued
- 03
State permitted routes and the available breakdown-assistance process
- 04
Keep deposits, damage charges, and late-return terms clearly disclosed
- 05
Have counsel and your insurer review rental and participant responsibilities
Questions to settle
Review before you publish.
Can one renter sign for all adult riders?
The person paying may accept rental charges without providing participation consent for other adults. Define separate renter and rider roles, and collect signatures according to your reviewed policy.
Does this waiver prove the bike was undamaged at pickup?
A general acknowledgement is not a detailed inspection record. Document existing damage and issued accessories during handoff, then connect that record to the booking and repeat the check at return.
Can I use this for electric bikes?
Adapt it to the actual model, controls, assisted speed, charging policy, and riding restrictions. Include an appropriate demonstration; a signature alone does not show the rider understands electric assistance.
