Signature
- 01
Renter, operators, and passengers
Identify the paying renter, every authorized driver, and each passenger. State guardian requirements without assuming one adult can provide consent for the whole party.
- 02
Vessel and rental period
Record the vessel identifier, booking, departure dock, and due time. Reference fuel, condition, safety-equipment, and accessory details in the handoff record.
- 03
Operator requirements and orientation
Describe the experience or documents required for this rental. Keep staff verification and the controls demonstration separate from the customer's declarations.
- 04
Cruising scope and boating risks
Explain permitted waters, restrictions, passenger conduct, and equipment rules. Address vessel movement, docks, other traffic, propulsion hazards, and changing conditions.
- 05
Weather, assistance, and return
State how to contact the marina, respond to weather instructions, and report a breakdown. Clearly reference return, fuel, damage, and fee terms.
- 06
Reviewed agreements and signatures
Include participation and release wording for the relevant roles. Identify acceptance of rental responsibilities and guardian consent for minor passengers.

Questions to settle
Review before you publish.
Does signing authorize someone to drive the boat?
No. Verify the operator requirements applicable to the location and vessel, then complete your orientation process. A waiver declaration does not replace required documents or demonstrate operating competence.
Can passengers be covered by the renter's signature?
Define signing requirements with counsel and your insurer. Keep each participant identifiable and distinguish the renter's financial agreement from adult passenger consent and guardian consent for minors.
Is this suitable for a captained charter?
A captained trip has a different operating relationship. Adapt the form for passenger participation and crew instructions; customer-operated rental duties should not be assigned to guests who will never control the vessel.
